Mechanical Engineering Internship, June 2024 - August 2024
During summer of 2024 I had the opportunity to work at Rosen Aviation as a mechanical engineering intern. At Rosen I worked on a variety of projects and tasks to help support the development of entertainment systems on private aircraft. During this internship I learned the usage of Solidworks, Solidworks Flow Sim, and Solidworks FEA. After understanding the software I was tased with many different projects. The first of these was to develop concepts to reduce the cost of a folding screen mechanism. Moving away form a pre-existing expensive rotational dampener, I created a system of slides that allowed for the proper movement of the screen using cheaper linear dampeners, while still allowing for the quick closure of the screen in any position as it is placed in front of an emergency exit. I also worked on other projects including developing electronic enclosures for experimental displays using Soldiworks Flowsim to verify cooling, and an aluminum quick mount system for displays in trade show booths. My time at Rosen was extremely rewarding, allowing me to understand a professional engineering environment first hand along with designing around real life situations from FAA regulations, to full scale production manufacturability.

Spaceflight Launch Commentator And Reporter, August 2024 - Present
At the Spaceport America Cup in 2024 while structures lead for the Oregon State University rocketry team, I was fortunate enough to meet John Galloway, CTO of NASASpaceflight. During my time at Spaceport I was interviewed on camera for the live stream many times. After seeing my passion and ease of speaking on camera, I was offered a commentator and writer position at NASASpaceflight. During my time at the company I have spoken to audiences of hundreds of thousands live, conveying my passion for aerospace that requires an in depth knowledge of launch systems and the spaceflight industry.
